OK, so I tried to match this up with Coltrane's performances. The scale and the chords all need to be transposed up a half step. This means that in concert key, the scale to use is A,A#,C#,D,F, and F#. This scale is the combination of an A augmented triad with and A# augmented triad. This scale contains the A#,D andF# major triads, plus A+ and A#+. The basic chord accompaniment is to play all of the notes of the scale on A as one large cluster for the A sections and then play all of the notes of the scale transposed down a major 2nd to G for the B sections. It does sound correct to me. blog comments powered by DisqusPlease join our community at SongTrellis. Our contributors welcome your comments, suggestions and requests.
