Chris,

I'm not quite sure where you are going but I'll key on two words you used: 'interactive' and 'mathematical' and suggest you check out a site by Lars Kindermann called The Music In The Numbers.  The address is much too long for me to copy but you should be able to get it from any serach engine.  Let us know how you make out.
