I would like to know if anyone out there can provide me with info regarding when this song was recorded. I think Johnny Mercer was one of the writers but I'd like to know more. Also, I'm an upright bass enthusiast(although I don't have or play one). The bassist on this particular song may have been Walter Page, one of Ellington's first bass players. That's why I'm asking for this information. I'd like to know if he was the one on this recording. As I understand it, he was one of the innovators of playing 4 notes to the bar instead of what was generally done in those days which was only 2 notes to the bar. I believe that if some of you upright bass fans listen to this recording with a pair of high quality earphones, you will be as amazed as I was to hear how this man goes from high nots to low notes with such speed and precision.Ellington also cut him loose on this recording and allowed to do his own "thing". It is absolutely masterful.

If someone out there could help me,I would be very appreciative.
