I just checked the ASCAP repretoire database for Straighten Up And Fly Right at http://www.ascap.com/ace  ASCAP is the performance licensing outfit that collects performance royalties for most music published before 1950 (classical, Broadway show tunes, and tunes written for the movies). There aren't that many female performers of the tune.

Natalie Cole, Nat's daughter, is probably the prime candidate.  Other possibilities could be Nnenna Frelon, Linda Ronstadt, Rosemary Clooney. The Andrews Sisters are also listed but we know you're looking for a solo performance. My money is on either Natalie or Nnenna.
