Chord changes for Cole Porter's Most Gentlemen Don't Like Love.

This is a four chorus comic song. The basic song form is 32 bars in length, AABA form. Choruses 2 and 3 adhere to this form and are bracketed with repeat symbols. In chorus 1, Porter inserts 8 bars in the middle of the last A section in order to fit in everything he wanted to say. In chorus 4, he inserts different material into the last A section (with suspended tempo) which I don't have music for.

This tune was never a big hit and it was nearly forgotten by the 1970s. Jazz singer Betty Carter found it in a Cole Porter collection and was responsible for reviving it. Her live versions of this were hilarious and swung like crazy. Her best and first recording of this was on her album "Now it's my Turn" on Roulette Records. I believe this is currently out of print.
