Oh, happy day! We've got DSL service again. No more backup system! SongTrellis is running again on it's home server, a big honking dual-processing Dell PowerEdge running NT 4, rather the hard-breathing, immobile single processor laptop running Win 98 which we used for our backup system. You should be experiencing much better performance than what you've had to endure since August.

This also means that I've gotten my accustomed email setup back. Since the backup machine was a Win 98 box with a small disk drive, there was no way to run the SongTrellis mail server. This interfered with sending out bulletins to members, sending automatic welcome messages to new members and caused a multude of other inconveniences. Gee, Toto, there's no place like home!

The new chord progressions in The Changes this week are:

584 chord progressions are currently listed in The Changes.

New originals

I've done three new ones: Found Inside The Wood, Angled and Mitred, and Restored In Parts.

Restored In Parts uses the same progression as Ghost Limbs for a different effect. Angled And Mitred is a flute line that you could call angular.

Here's the story for Found Inside The Wood:

"This song has a very irregular chord sequence supporting it. When I composed it, I thought of how a wood sculptor can take an irregular tree branch and find his scuplture inside of it. The process of finding this melody amidst its progression seemed similar".
