| The suspended 7th chord has the root, perfect 5th and minor 7th intervals of a dominant 7th chord but substitutes a perfect 4th for the major 3rd that would be played in a dominant 7th. Example: the G7sus chord symbol specifies a chord whose root is G which uses pitches drawn from the C (perfect 4th), D (perfect 5th) and F (minor 7th) pitch classes.
